The amazing Cate Blanchett is hitting Sydney Theatre Company's stage this December in the German play, Gross Und Klein (Big and Small).
First staged in 1978, this delicately surreal play was written by Botho Strauss. Now another of Europe’s great writers, Martin Crimp has created a new adaptation in which Cate Blanchett leads an all-star cast including: Lynette Curran, Anita Hegh, Belinda McClory, Josh McConville, Robert Menzies, Katrina Milosevic, Yalin Ozucelik, Richard Piper, Richard Pyros, Sophie Ross, Chris Ryan, Christopher Stollery, Martin Vaughan.
Chief character Lotte (Blanchett) is courageously optimistic and perpetually disappointed as she searches for human connection. Yearning for belonging while wandering Morocco on vacation, she is rejected by her husband, unrecognised by old friends and unfamiliar with her family.
