Walsh Bay is getting connected!

Soon Walsh Bay will no longer be Sydney’s best kept secret hotspot! Sydney’s network of high-frequency buses are increasing and will soon be feeding pedestrians from the CBD to Walsh Bay within a matter of minutes, bringing them closer to the creative hub and artistic heart of Sydney’s centre.

The new Walsh Bay bus service was announced at the Palette on the Pier fundraiser by Virginia Judge Min for Arts. From December 2010, the NSW Government will run a six-month trial by extending the existing 433 bus service on a weekly basis from 6pm to 11:30pm.

As Walsh Bay is such a buzzing location to visit, especially in the evenings, this new bus service is likely to prove very successful.

This extension will run from the existing terminus at Millers Point down to Hickson Road, with a terminus adjacent to Pier 2/3, Walsh Bay.

This is a fantastically cost-effective way for people to get to venues such as The Sydney Theatre Company and when dining in Walsh Bay’s selection of top restaurants.

It also shows great initiative and thought for Walsh Bay’s older less agile visitors who may struggle with the steep landscape surroundings.

These bus service additions are part of the Hassle Free Nights action plan which aimed to improve services to the area and increase patron safety.
